Welcome to the »Görlitzer Sammlungen für Geschichte und Kultur« (Görlitz collections for history and culture), which are located right in the heart of our european city of Görlitz-Zgorzelec!
The Görlitzer Sammlungen, consisting of the Cultural History Museum and the »Oberlausitzische Bibliothek der Wissenschaften« (Upper Lusatia Library of Science), are housed in a total of six buildings.
They are the city's largest cultural complex and an important institution for science, education and the history of science, archaeology, art and cultural history between Dresden, Wroclaw and Prague. Its origin goes far back into the 18th century. The collections of the Cultural History Museum and the Upper Lusatia Library of Science are combined in the Görlitzer Sammlungen.
You are cordially invited to immerse yourself in the world of experience of the Görlitzer Sammlungen, to discover new things and to be inspired in a variety of ways. We are looking forward to you!
The admission ticket entitles you to visit the permanent exhibitions in the respective exhibition building, a surcharge may be charged for temporary exhibitions. Admission to the exhibition halls to visit the permanent exhibitions is free every first Sunday.
Please purchase the tickets for the Reichenbacher Turm before your visit at the ticket office in Kaisertrutz directly opposite.
It is valid on two consecutive opening days for unlimited visits to the permanent exhibitions in the Barockhaus museum, Kaisertrutz museum and Reichenbacher Turm.
Please note that the amount of the fee may differ from the fee schedule. The fees are determined separately for each event and announced on site and/or in publications by the Görlitzer Sammlungen.
Guided tours for individuals and groups are possible by prior arrangement. The size of the group will be determined in consultation with the Görlitzer Sammlungen. The tour fee including admission is due for each group.
Media use and lending are free of charge for holders of a valid library card. Fees for other services listed in the fee schedule, claims for replacement, exceeding the loan period, compensation in the event of loss or damage to the loaned items remain unaffected. User cards are not transferrable.
Unfortunately, due to the historical structure of the building, not all of our exhibition buildings can be visited by people with restricted mobility. This applies to the Reichenbacher and Nikolai Towers as well as to the Biblical House.
All of our exhibition houses are located in the historic old town of Görlitz, can be easily reached by foot and are only a few hundred meters apart.
